This is due to Dominik who scored really well in the new Polish Grand Prix tournaments and affected some fellow Polish players. But also because averagely the rating of 2200 has dropped slightly. All players above 2270 (including non-european players) have dropped heavily (20-30 points without having played).

* 5 players of the current top20 will participate in 2009. (knowing that the theoretical maximum was 8 - the residency of Makoto included this is fairly high).

Some guesses:
* At least one of the two new players will head into the semis.
* The WOC will not affect the number one position, nor the names of the players in the top10.
* The 5 world class players cited above, will also populate the top10 of the WOC this year.

This means it may be time (for next year) to rethink the seeded players in the WOC. Now that we have a world ratinglist, it may be time to use it...

PS: I got two new tournaments involving WOC players (German and British championships). I'll wait a few days to see if there's nothing new (Belgium championship maybe) and I'll publish a final update to the ratinglist.
PPS: Bintsa's games are still included in the ratinglist, I'm waiting for an official decision by the WOF to remove them.

Well, we should check for the tournaments in Belgium (18/10), Finland (17/10) and the nationals organised in Spain (10/10) and Israel. I we could arrange those four tournaments by next Tuesday, it would be nice.
